This fabric is 0,3 mm thick and woven from 100%kevlar.
High-performance aramid fabric engineered for extreme strength and durability in a low-profile form factor. Despite its thin, paper-like thickness, it offers the legendary impact and heat resistance of Kevlar (Para-aramid), making it an ideal material for specialized technical applications.

This material is suitable as a wick for situations where standard tape wick is not wide enough.

Thickness: 0,3 mm

Density: ~1.44 g/cm³
Tensile strength: 2.8 – 3.6 GPa (up to 5× stronger than steel by weight)
Young’s modulus: 70 – 125 GPa
Decomposition temperature: ~450–500 °C
Thermal conductivity: very low
Cut resistance: extremely high
Elongation at break: ~2.5 – 4 %
Impact energy absorption: very high
Flammability: non-melting, chars instead of burning

Kevlar does not melt — it gradually decomposes, providing heat and flame protection.

Chemical resistance

Resistant to:
organic solvents
petroleum products
most chemicals

Sensitive to:
UV exposure (long-term degradation)
strong acids and bases
moisture under constant load

Therefore coatings or rubber encapsulation are commonly used.

Electrical properties

Electrical insulator
Dielectric strength approx. 20 kV/mm
Used in electrical insulation and composite reinforcement

Applications of Kevlar

Protection and safety

body armor and helmets
cut-resistant gloves
firefighter gear
blast and fragmentation protection
security panels and safes

The fiber spreads projectile energy across the fabric surface.

Automotive and aerospace

tire reinforcement
brake pads and clutches
lightweight composite body panels
aircraft fuel tanks
high-pressure hoses

It reduces weight while improving puncture resistance.

Industrial engineering

composite reinforcement
high-strength ropes and straps
fiber-optic cable protection
drive belts
robotic cable shielding

A Kevlar rope can achieve similar strength as steel at about 20 % of the weight.

Sports and outdoor

kayaks and boats
skis and snowboards
motorcycle protective clothing
drone racing frames
speaker diaphragms

Chosen for strength, vibration damping and lightweight properties.

Advanced modern uses

EV battery puncture protection
spacecraft composites
EMI shielding hybrid laminates
fire performance equipment
